Welcome to Bougie Tooth! I'm so happy you're here.

I'm Kayla, I'm 27 years old, a Capricorn, a proud cat mom to Figaro, and the face behind Bougie Tooth in Hamilton, Ontario. I've had a love for tooth gems since 2019, long before they exploded in popularity. My own smile has always been my favorite accessory, and my longest-lasting set of gems stayed on for an incredible seven years. Funny enough, the year they finally fell off was the same year I decided to open Bougie Tooth and start sharing my signature style with all of you.

What started as a personal obsession quickly became a passion. Today, I'm trained, certified, licensed, and insured, and every appointment is completed using professional dental-grade materials—the very same types of bonding materials dentists use to attach orthodontic brackets for braces.

Although I am not a dentist or dental hygienist, I have spent countless hours educating myself on dental hygiene and the science behind dentistry, including microbiology, chemistry, and dental materials. My goal has always been to ensure that every service I offer is as safe as it is beautiful.

That means:

• ✨ Completely temporary

• ✨ Applied using dental-grade techniques and materials

With proper aftercare, tooth gems can last anywhere from one month to over a year—and sometimes, as I learned firsthand, even much longer!

One of the biggest myths about tooth gems is that they damage your teeth. When they're applied correctly to healthy enamel using professional materials, they should not cause staining, cavities, pain, or damage. The most important part is maintaining good oral hygiene and continuing to visit your dentist for regular cleanings and checkups. I've worn tooth gems for years and have never experienced staining, discomfort, or tooth damage because I take care of my smile—and I'll make sure you know exactly how to care for yours, too.

Outside of Bougie Tooth, I'm deeply passionate about harm reduction, community care, and empowering people who use drugs (PWUD). Creating safe, welcoming spaces has always been an important part of who I am, and I wanted my studio to reflect those same values.

Because of that, my home studio is a judgment-free, inclusive space where everyone is welcome. Bougie Tooth proudly welcomes people of every identity and background and is an LGBTQIA2S+ affirming environment. It's also kid-friendly if you need to bring your little one along.

Since I do work from my home, you'll probably hear or see my cats (especially Figaro!). Service animals are always welcome, and I'm happy to put the cats away if needed. I do have a mild (and admittedly irrational) fear of large dogs, so I kindly ask that, if possible, they stay home unless they're a working service animal.

At the end of the day, Bougie Tooth isn't just about adding a little sparkle to your smile—it's about helping you feel confident, express yourself, and leave your appointment feeling a little more like you.

There's honestly so much more I could tell you about myself, but I'd rather save those conversations for when you're sitting in my chair. I love getting to know my clients, and by the end of your appointment, it usually feels like we're just two friends hanging out.
